Once you have started the livecd I know you are eager to start testing Bongo. Unfortunately you will need to configure the system before you will be able to do that.

Now don't run away it is not as hard as you think, No really.

Use the following steps to configure the livecd so you can play. Just remember that this is a livecd so that really cool e-mail you sent to your special person will be gone once you reboot your machine.

Right down to business.

You should see the following screen once the system has booted

In this screen you can see that we have given you a link to the initial configuration page. The URL looks something like this https://IPADDRESS:8003 enter it into your favorite browser

don't for get the https or it will error out.

What you should see is this

On this page you will need to enter the following details username admin password password

Then click on submit

You will then be asked to click on OK, this will take you to the root password setting screen that looks like this

enter a password for the root user make sure you type it in the same both times and then click ok.

You will then be presented with the next page looking like this

This is the password setting page for the rpath web admin user

you need to enter password as the old password and a new password twice.

Once you are sure you have typed the password in correctly then click change password

The next page looks like this

This page allows you to set-up the system email account that will receive the update e-mails from the appliance when new bongo or system updates are released.

Enter the following in the fields provided Mail relay - localhost Mail From - bongoserver@localhost

Then click OK

The next page will allow you to set-up the people who will receive these update notices. in the field provided you can add an email address of the recipient. The page should look like this

you can add more than one person to the list or a mailing list if you want. As this is not a live server we don't have to be to careful so in the field provided enter bongouser@localhost and click add

Once you have added the user you can click on the save button.

You should then see this page

Don't do anything to this page just click on the Done button.

Now we get to the interesting bit.

You should now see the following page

This is where we configure the base bongo system. We can leave the defaults here and click save.

You should now see the Configure Proxy page. This page allows you to add your network proxy server if you use one so that your Bongo appliance can get its updates from the web. Once you have entered the proxy server information then you can click on the OK button.

You should now see this page

Congratulations you are finished.

You can now open your browser and enter this link http://IPADDRESS

You will then see a login page.

Enter the following information Username – admin password – bongo

you are now logged in to the bongo server. have fun playing.
